Revival Art Collective is super stoked to have one of our favorite
local artists, bacon connoisseur, and Wardog chronicler
in the gallery this month.
If this guy’s art doesn’t make you smile, we’re pretty sure you have no soul.
Please join us on Friday, April 17th from 6-9PM
for an artist reception like no other.
“Paul King, better known as simply P.K., is a native of Santa Cruz, California, but has lived in the Phoenix area off and on for the past 20+ years. A painter of images bold and colorful, most of his influence and ‘education’ came from an 18-year career in the tattoo industry where he worked in both street and custom shops amidst an incredibly diverse group of artists and characters. His tattooing has been featured in many magazines around the world and was mainly known for his traditional style work and sometime shenanigans. During that time, painting became a good way to decompress from shop life and eventually evolved evolved into group shows with other tattooers and artists. Having burnt out from life in shops, P.K. decided to leave the tattoo game behind and took a year off to surf before landing back in Phoenix to pursue painting again.
His love of dogs (and cats) turned into his main inspiration for many of his pieces and he now mostly works on a commission-only basis which allows him to travel to homes all of the U.S. and Canada to meet families and their pets. He thoroughly enjoys the many friendships he has developed by painting people’s animals.
This is P.K.’s first solo show. He will be showcasing pop-culture inspired artwork done in much the same style as the pet portraits he enjoys doing.”
